Repeat wrapping pork in remaining 2 banana leaves, 1 at a time.<\/li>\n<li class=\"preparation-step\">Tie with kitchen string to secure, then wrap roast in foil.<\/li>\n<li class=\"preparation-step\">Place pork in roasting pan; pour 4 cups water into pan.<\/li>\n<li class=\"preparation-step\">Roast pork in oven until very tender when pierced with fork, about 5 hours.<\/li>\n<li class=\"preparation-step\">Unwrap pork and cool slightly.<\/li>\n<li class=\"preparation-step\">Shred pork and place in large bowl.<\/li>\n<li class=\"preparation-step\">Bring remaining 2 cups water and remaining 2 teaspoons salt to boil in small saucepan.<\/li>\n<li class=\"preparation-step\">Add liquid smoke; pour over pork and stir to blend.<\/li>\n<li class=\"preparation-step\">Let stand 10 minutes to allow liquid to flavor pork.<\/li>\n<li class=\"preparation-step\">Serve.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"chef-notes\">\n<div class=\"chef-notes-header\"><strong>Ingredient tip:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"chef-notes-content\">Hawaiian alaea sea salt is available at specialty foods stores and online from Hawaii Specialty Salt Company at\u00a0<span class=\"skimlinks-unlinked\">hawaiisalt.com<\/span>.
