Lavash is a wonderful middle eastern bread.\u00a0 It comes in many sizes and shapes.\u00a0 It also come thin, thicker, and toasted or soft.\u00a0 Look for it in middle eastern stores.\u00a0 Some Trader Joe&#8217;s have it too.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 large\u00a0soft lavash<\/li>\n<li>1\u00a0c oil packed sun dried tomatoes<\/li>\n<li>12\u00a0cloves garlic (or 1 tsp chopped garlic &#8211; more if you want)<\/li>\n<li>1\u00a0tsp oregano\u00a0 (some day I will try tarragon.)<\/li>\n<li>32\u00a0oz (2 lbs) cream cheese\u00a0\u2013\u00a0soft, not block<\/li>\n<li>1\u00a0c sour cream6\u00a0finely chopped green onions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Drain tomatoes.\u00a0 You can save the oil and use it in salad dressings.<\/li>\n<li>Place the tomatoes, garlic and oregano in a food processor.<\/li>\n<li>Process until it is a smooth paste.<\/li>\n<li>Add sour cream and cream cheese &#8211; a bit at a time mixes easier.<\/li>\n<li>Spread on the lavash.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle with green onions. (or chives, or, for something really different, chopped olives)<\/li>\n<li>Using a pizza cutter, cut into 1 1\/4 inch squares.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Spread can be made ahead and refrigerated (bring to room temp to spread) and can be used as a dip.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>makes 5-6 cups of spread.\u00a0 Makes about 100 pieces.\u00a0 Cut the recipe in half or quarter for a normal party.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:\u00a0 Truth &#8211;<\/strong>\u00a0 I have only the\u00a0 list of ingredients, the recipe is in some book\/magazine\/newspaper I no longer own.\u00a0 I made up the directions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Easy, tasty and vegetarian.\u00a0 You can make the topping ahead and spread it at the event.\u00a0 It can also be rolled, but use the smaller lavash, otherwise too much bread.
