The original was scribbled down by on the back of Union Oil bill envelope dated December 1975 when my mom spotted <a href=\"http:\/\/pastdaily.com\/2012\/12\/22\/holiday-cooking-on-radio-in-1967-chef-mike-roy-past-daily-pop-chronicles-holiday-edition\/\">Mike<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/articles.latimes.com\/1994-09-01\/food\/fo-33395_1_mike-roy\">Roy<\/a> on the TV talking about it. It said not to be an eggnog, even if it\u00a0 fits the requirements of being &#8220;made with milk, cream, sugar, whipped egg whites, and egg yolks.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Ingredients<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>9 eggs, separated<\/li>\n<li>\u00be cup sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>1 pint heavy cream<\/li>\n<li>1 quart milk<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd cup light rum<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd cup brandy<\/li>\n<li>2 cups bourbon<\/li>\n<li>ground nutmeg<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Directions<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Beat yolks and sugar and salt until thick and very lemony in color. Set aside.<\/li>\n<li>Whip cream and blend in egg whites.<\/li>\n<li>Fold in\u00a0brandy, rum, and bourbon to the cream-whites mix.<\/li>\n<li>Add milk to the cream-whites mix.<\/li>\n<li>Put yolk mix to bottom of bowl. Add cream mixture and blend a little.<\/li>\n<li>Family tradition calls on sampling just a little bit at the end of the prep.
