{"id":5041,"date":"2017-12-27T07:39:40","date_gmt":"2017-12-27T14:39:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=5041"},"modified":"2017-12-27T07:39:40","modified_gmt":"2017-12-27T14:39:40","slug":"linzer-torte","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/linzer-torte.html","title":{"rendered":"Linzer Torte"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Direct from Switzerland!\u00a0 A delicious, not too fussy, fancy cookie.\u00a0 They keep well and can be frozen (if there are any left!).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 1\/2 sticks\u00a0butter, room temperature\u00a0 (3\/4 cup)<\/li>\n<li>1 c\u00a0sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 c\u00a0ground blanched almonds, fine (easiest to use slivered almonds)<\/li>\n<li>zest of 1 lemon<\/li>\n<li>1 large egg, beaten<\/li>\n<li>2 c\u00a0flour<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp ground cloves<\/li>\n<li>1 Tab brandy (or rum)<\/li>\n<li>2\/3 &#8211; 3\/4 jar raspberry jam<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Mix in order. (butter, sugar, almonds, lemon zest, egg, flour, cinnamon, cloves, brandy)<\/li>\n<li>Roll out about 1\/2 dough (maybe a little more)<\/li>\n<li>Place in a nine inch pie plate (or tart pan with removable bottom)<\/li>\n<li>Spread raspberry jam on top, but not all the way to the edge.\u00a0 Leave about 1\/2 inch to anchor the top.<\/li>\n<li>Roll out remaining dough.<\/li>\n<li>Cut into strips to cover the top.<\/li>\n<li>Chriscross the strips over the top of the jam.<\/li>\n<li>Press the ends into the base dough.<\/li>\n<li>Bake 325 for about 35 &#8211; 40 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>When cool, cut into\u00a01 inch squares.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves:\u00a0<\/strong> 4 &#8211; 5 dozen cookies<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Helen Dell-Imagine<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Direct from Switzerland!\u00a0 A delicious, not too fussy, fancy cookie.\u00a0 They keep well and can be frozen (if there are any left!).
