{"id":5385,"date":"2018-02-12T16:54:21","date_gmt":"2018-02-12T23:54:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=5385"},"modified":"2018-03-08T13:49:35","modified_gmt":"2018-03-08T20:49:35","slug":"teddys-brie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/teddys-brie.html","title":{"rendered":"Teddy&#8217;s Brie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>This recipe is harder to describe than it is to make.\u00a0 Play with it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>brie &#8211; 4 oz (2.5 inches), 8 oz (5 inches) 1 lb (1\/2 kilo, ? inches), 2.2 lb (1 kilo, 7 &#8211; 9 inches)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Savory<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>green onions &#8211; chopped<\/li>\n<li>bacon &#8211; crumbled<\/li>\n<li>hard boiled eggs &#8211; chopped<\/li>\n<li>olives, black or green &#8211; chopped<\/li>\n<li>caviar, black or red<\/li>\n<li>black pepper, cracked (coarse)<\/li>\n<li>sun dried tomatoes &#8211; diced<\/li>\n<li>red peppers, canned &#8211; diced<\/li>\n<li>crispy onions<\/li>\n<li>pine nuts &#8211; chopped<\/li>\n<li>chives<\/li>\n<li>parsley<\/li>\n<li>guacamole<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sweet<\/strong>\u00a0 &#8211; drizzle the fruits or nuts with honey<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>dried apricots &#8211; diced<\/li>\n<li>dates &#8211; diced<\/li>\n<li>pears -diced<\/li>\n<li>nuts &#8211; chopped &#8211; almonds are especially good<\/li>\n<li>cranberries &#8211; candied<\/li>\n<li>carmelized onion<\/li>\n<li>jam &#8211; raspberry, blackberry, cherry<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0jalape\u00f1o jelly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To peel the top rind off of the brie or not &#8211; a personal choice.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t bother.<br \/>\nThe number of toppings will depend on the size of your brie.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Take a table knife.<\/li>\n<li>Place it in the brie from center to edge, making a barrier for the topping.<\/li>\n<li>Using additional knives, divide the top into as many triangles as is appropriate for the size of the brie.\u00a0 4 oz one get one or two, 8 oz can hold .<\/li>\n<li>Carefully top each sections with a topping &#8211; don&#8217;t overdo it.\u00a0 Keep in mind how the colors play out.\u00a0 The visual can be stunning &#8211; black caviar, next to red peppers, next to green chives.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Depends on the size of the brie and how much other stuff you have.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong> Teddy Wells, Artful Gourmet, Villa Park, CA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This recipe is harder to describe than it is to make.\u00a0 Play with it.
