When I was young my parents would take me to the\u00a0North Woods Inn\u00a0restaurant in California. With your meal you get a basket of garlic cheese bread, and a big family size bowl blue cheese salad and red cabbage salad. The cheese spread can also be added to a baked potato and put under the broiler.&#8221;\u00a0 You can buy the cheese spread now &#8211; Clearman&#8217;s Original Spread.\u00a0 The Clearman Family started the Northwoods Inn.\u00a0 Our kids thought that eating peanuts and throwing the shells on the floor was the ultimate!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 pound grated Cheddar cheese<\/li>\n<li>2 oz grated Romano cheese<\/li>\n<li>1-\u00bd pounds butter, room temperature<\/li>\n<li>\u00be tsp garlic powder<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp Hungarian sweet paprika<\/li>\n<li>\u215b tsp hot sauce<\/li>\n<li>2-\u00bc tsp Worcestershire sauce<\/li>\n<li>2 loaves French or sourdough bread, sliced \u00bd-inch thick<\/li>\n<li>Additional Hungarian sweet paprika for sprinkling<\/li>\n<li>Plastic containers for storage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In a stand mixer, whip the room temperature butter for a few minutes, until nearly doubled in size and light in color.<\/li>\n<li>Add Cheddar cheese, Romano cheese, garlic powder, paprika, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce to the whipped butter.<\/li>\n<li>Stir until combined, using either the kitchen aid mixer or a large spoon.<\/li>\n<li>Store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to use. (Freeze half in a plastic container, since it makes a ton of spread.)<\/li>\n<li>Spread a thin cheese mixture on white bread slices.<\/li>\n<li>Place on foil lined pans.<\/li>\n<li>Preheat oven broiler.<\/li>\n<li>Broil in batches until browned and bubbly.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Makes many, many servings<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Jam Hands &#8211;\u00a0Recipe from&#8230;I misplaced the source.
