It&#8217;s actually scaled down from a large group recipe (great for luncheons), and makes the house smell great. Entered by Dave the Husband as a public service.<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>4 oz. Bacon (diced)<br \/> \u00bd Onion (diced)<br \/> \u00be tsp. Thyme<br \/> \u00be tsp.&nbsp;Sea Salt<\/p>\n<p> 2 tbsp. Flour<br \/> 1 pint Chicken Broth<\/p>\n<p> 1-1\/8 lbs. Canned Corn<br \/> \u00bd&nbsp;large Idaho Potato<\/p>\n<p> \u00bd&nbsp;c.Heavy Cream<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> Brown bacon until almost crisp.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li> Add onions and saut\u00e9 until tender.<\/li>\n<li> Stir in seasoning until fragrant. <\/li>\n<li> Add flour and cook slightly.<\/li>\n<li> Slowly add half of broth while stirring. Cook until thickened.<\/li>\n<li> Add remaining broth and simmer 20 minutes. <\/li>\n<li> Microwave potato. When cool enough again to handle, peel and dice.<\/li>\n<li> Add corn and potatoes to soup and heat through. <\/li>\n<li> Remove from heat and stir in cream.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Serves 16.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This one&#8217;s pretty much Margie&#8217;s recipe.
