{"id":6482,"date":"2018-08-18T09:46:05","date_gmt":"2018-08-18T15:46:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=6482"},"modified":"2019-04-10T08:08:51","modified_gmt":"2019-04-10T14:08:51","slug":"heloises-five-minute-fudge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/heloises-five-minute-fudge.html","title":{"rendered":"Heloise&#8217;s Fudge, and Heloise&#8217;s Five Minute Fudge, and Heloise&#8217;s Microwave Fudge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>There is fudge and there is fudge &#8211; how much effort do you want to put into it?\u00a0 Your grandmother&#8217;s (or Gourmet&#8217;s) recipe may be wonderful, but, for quick and easy, these can&#8217;t be beat.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Heloise&#8217;s Fudge<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4 1\u20442 c granulated sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk<\/li>\n<li>3 (6-ounce) packages chocolate chips (3 c)<\/li>\n<li>1 (10-ounce) package miniature marshmallows<\/li>\n<li>1\u20442 c butter<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>2 c chopped nuts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Mix the sugar and milk in a large, heavy saucepan and slowly bring to a rolling boil.<\/li>\n<li>Let this mixture boil for 8 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the chocolate chips, marshmallows and butter (or margarine).<\/li>\n<li>Mix only until the chips and the marshmallows are melted.<\/li>\n<li>Add the vanilla and nuts, and blend.<\/li>\n<li>Spread the mixture in a large, 9 x 13 ungreased pan. (cut 8 by 12)<\/li>\n<li>Let cool and enjoy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves:<\/strong> 7 dz pieces<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Heloise &#8211; Orange County Register 11\/21\/2018<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Five Minute Fudge<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 14-oz can sweetened condensed milk<\/li>\n<li>12 oz semisweet chocolate chips (2 c ) Guess what?\u00a0 You can use the milk can as a measuring cup &#8211; very full it is 1 cup.<\/li>\n<li>1\u20442 c chopped walnuts (optional)<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp vanilla (almond works too)<\/li>\n<li>Dash salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Line an 8 inch square pan with foil, wrapping it up over the edge. Form it on the outside of the pan,<\/li>\n<li>Combine all ingredients except the nuts in a saucepan.<\/li>\n<li>Cook over medium heat.<\/li>\n<li>Stir constantly until the chocolate chips melt.<\/li>\n<li>Remove from the heat and stir in the nuts.<\/li>\n<li>Pour into the 8-inch square pan.<\/li>\n<li>Allow to cool at room temperature for 30 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Lift out foil.<\/li>\n<li>Cut into bite-size pieces,.<\/li>\n<li>Refrigerate.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>How many pieces are you cutting it into??\u00a0 How much do you eat before serving?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Dear Heloise, Orange County Register<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Microwave fudge<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 lb powdered sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\u20442 c cocoa<\/li>\n<li>1\u20444 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>6 Tab butter<\/li>\n<li>4 Tab milk<\/li>\n<li>1 Tab vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>1 c chopped pecans or walnuts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Combine all ingredients except the nuts in a microwave-safe bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Microwave on high until all the ingredients in the mixture are melted and smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Remove and stir periodically.<\/li>\n<li>When the mixture is smooth, remove from microwave\u00a0and stir in nuts.<\/li>\n<li>Spread into a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan and allow to cool completely.<\/li>\n<li>Cut into bite-size pieces.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Some for me and some for you &#8230;..maybe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Heloise &#8211; Orange County Register 4\/10\/2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is fudge and there is fudge &#8211; how much effort do you want to put into it?\u00a0 Your grandmother&#8217;s (or Gourmet&#8217;s) recipe may be wonderful, but, for quick and easy, these can&#8217;t be beat.
