{"id":7013,"date":"2019-01-29T13:59:11","date_gmt":"2019-01-29T20:59:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=7013"},"modified":"2019-01-29T13:59:11","modified_gmt":"2019-01-29T20:59:11","slug":"upside-down-cherry-pear-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/upside-down-cherry-pear-cake.html","title":{"rendered":"Upside-Down Cherry-Pear Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Great for breakfast or you can serve it with ice cream for dessert.<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling<\/li>\n<li>1 can (15 oz) pear halves, drained<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 c slivered almonds<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 c butter or margarine, melted<\/li>\n<li>1 c sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 c Original Bisquick\u2122 mix<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp ground cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>2 eggs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Heat oven to 350\u00b0.<\/li>\n<li>Grease 8-inch square (2-quart) glass baking dish.<\/li>\n<li>Spread cherry pie filling in baking dish.<\/li>\n<li>Arrange pear halves, cut side up, over pie filling.<\/li>\n<li>Bake about 20 minutes or until filling is hot.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, in food processor or blender, cover and process almonds until finely ground.<\/li>\n<li>In medium bowl, mix butter, sugar, Bisquick mix, almonds, cinnamon and eggs with spoon.<\/li>\n<li>Spoon batter over hot pie filling and pears.<\/li>\n<li>Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until cherries are bubbly and toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.<\/li>\n<li>Let stand 10 minutes.\u00a0 (I know, waiting is hard.\u00a0 But is you son&#8217;t, all the topping will stay in the pan ;and make a mess.)<\/li>\n<li>Run sharp knife around edges of baking dish to loosen.<\/li>\n<li>Place heatproof serving plate upside down onto baking dish.<\/li>\n<li>Turn plate and dish over.<\/li>\n<li>Let dish remain over cake a few minutes so topping can drizzle over cake.<\/li>\n<li>Serve warm.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Servings:<\/strong> 9<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Betty Crocker<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Great for breakfast or you can serve it with ice cream for dessert.
