Served with ham and tomato chutney, these chive spiced baguette slices are fried until crispy and golden, and sure to be a hit.&#8221;\u00a0 There is also a Mexican French Toast made with flour tortillas.\u00a0 Must try it some time.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4 eggs, beaten<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 c milk<\/li>\n<li>1 Tab chopped fresh chives<\/li>\n<li>4 slices Swiss cheese (or pepper jack)<\/li>\n<li>4 tsp butter (1 1\/2 Tab &#8211; more or less)<\/li>\n<li>1 French baguette, cut into 1\/2 inch slices<\/li>\n<li>8 oz sliced ham<\/li>\n<li>1 c fresh salsa<\/li>\n<li>1 c sour cream<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and chives.<\/li>\n<li>Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.<\/li>\n<li>Dip slices of bread into the egg mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Then place them in the skillet.<\/li>\n<li>Cook for 3 to 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Flip.<\/li>\n<li>Top with cheese slice,<\/li>\n<li>Cook until golden and crispy.<\/li>\n<li>Top with sliced ham and salsa and sour cream.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong> 4<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>allrecipes: By windwalker<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;This savory French toast recipe is a great breakfast or lunch.
