Remember, there are approximately 24 sheets of dough in 1\/2 a pound of filo &#8211; box is 1 pound.\u00a0 Might as well double everything and freeze some.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 c ground walnuts, toasted<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 c sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp ground cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>12 sheets frozen filo dough, thawed<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 c butter, melted\u00a0 (1\/4 pound)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Syrup:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 c honey<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 c sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 c water<\/li>\n<li>1 Tab lemon juice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.<\/li>\n<li>Combine walnuts, sugar and cinnamon.<\/li>\n<li>Place one sheet of filo dough on a 15&#215;12-in. piece of waxed paper; brush with butter.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t be too worried if it tears &#8211; rolling will cover it up.<\/li>\n<li>Place a second filo sheet on top, brushing it with butter. (You can keep remaining filo covered with a damp towel to prevent it from drying out.)<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle with 1\/4 cup walnut mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Using waxed paper, roll up tightly jelly-roll style, starting with a long side, removing paper as you roll.<\/li>\n<li>Slice roll into four smaller rolls; transfer rolls to a greased 13&#215;9-in. baking dish.<\/li>\n<li>Repeat with remaining filo dough and 1\/4 cupfuls of walnut mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Bake until light brown, 14-16 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Cool dish on a wire rack.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine all syrup ingredients.<\/li>\n<li>Bring to a boil.<\/li>\n<li>Reduce heat.<\/li>\n<li>Simmer 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Cool 10 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Drizzle cinnamon rolls with syrup.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle with remaining walnut mixture.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Servings:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>24<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:\u00a0<\/strong>Taste of home<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This cinnamony treat is almost baklava, but with only a few easy ingredients, and a fraction of the work.\u00a0 If using on a plat of mixed filo treats, cut the rolls into smaller pieces.
