{"id":7541,"date":"2019-05-25T16:31:25","date_gmt":"2019-05-25T22:31:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=7541"},"modified":"2019-05-25T16:31:25","modified_gmt":"2019-05-25T22:31:25","slug":"dream-whip-butter-frosting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/dream-whip-butter-frosting.html","title":{"rendered":"Dream Whip Butter Frosting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>A vintage recipe from an envelope of Dream Whip.\u00a0 A rich butter frosting!\u00a0 Vanilla, lemon, or orange\u00a0 &#8211; make your favorite flavor for cupcakes or use for filling in chocolate cups.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/3\u00a0 c cold milk<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp vanilla<\/li>\n<li>1 (1 1\/3 oz) envelope Dream Whip<\/li>\n<li>1 lb powdered&#8217; sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 Tab milk<\/li>\n<li>3 Tab butter, softened<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Instructions:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Combine 1\/3 cup milk, vanilla, and Dream Whip in large bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Add half of sugar.<\/li>\n<li>Blend well.<\/li>\n<li>Whip rapidly until thickened\u2013about 2 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>At medium speed alternately add remaining sugar and milk.<\/li>\n<li>Beat after each addition.<\/li>\n<li>Add butter, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating well.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a02 3\/4 cups, enough for 8- or 9-inch layer cake or 24 cupcakes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Genius Kitchen<\/p>\n<p>.<strong>Lemon or Orange frosting<\/strong><br \/>\nPrepare as above; omit vanilla and substitute 2 tablespoons lemon or orange juice for<br \/>\nthe 2 tablespoons milk.
