{"id":7593,"date":"2019-07-11T15:18:38","date_gmt":"2019-07-11T21:18:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=7593"},"modified":"2020-02-19T15:08:10","modified_gmt":"2020-02-19T22:08:10","slug":"finger-lickin-good-ribs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/finger-lickin-good-ribs.html","title":{"rendered":"Finger Lickin&#8217; Good Ribs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Don&#8217;t be afraid to use a bottled BBQ sauce &#8211; make it own with the addition of a special rub.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 1\/2 Tab kosher salt<\/li>\n<li>1 Tab dry mustard<\/li>\n<li>1 Tab paprika<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp cayenne pepper<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 c port<\/li>\n<li>8 pounds baby back pork ribs (8 racks) or St. Louis-style spareribs (4 racks)<\/li>\n<li>Low-salt chicken broth (optional)<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 c KC Masterpiece barbecue sauce plus more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.<\/li>\n<li>Combine first 5 ingredients in a small bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Place each rack of ribs on a double layer of foil.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle rub all over ribs.<\/li>\n<li>Place in ovenproof dish.<\/li>\n<li>Add port,.<\/li>\n<li>Cover tightly with foil.<\/li>\n<li>Bake ribs until very tender but not falling apart, about 2 hours for baby backs and 3 hours for spareribs.<\/li>\n<li>Carefully unwrap ribs; pour any juices from foil into a 4-cup heatproof measuring cup.<\/li>\n<li>Reserve juices.<\/li>\n<li>Let ribs cool completely.<\/li>\n<li>When ready to serve, mix reserved liquid with BBQ sauce.<\/li>\n<li>Slather the baked ribs with barbecue sauce then broil (or grill) the ribs for a few minutes until the sauce is caramelized.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>DO AHEAD: Ribs can be baked up to 3 days ahead.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves: 8 &#8211; 10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Villa Park Women&#8217;s League Gourmet:\u00a0 Picnic in the South &#8211; June 2015<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Don&#8217;t be afraid to use a bottled BBQ sauce &#8211; make it own with the addition of a special rub.
