{"id":7603,"date":"2019-07-11T14:46:59","date_gmt":"2019-07-11T20:46:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=7603"},"modified":"2019-07-22T19:38:09","modified_gmt":"2019-07-23T01:38:09","slug":"spirited-ice-cream-drinks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/spirited-ice-cream-drinks.html","title":{"rendered":"Spirited Ice Cream Drinks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>These shakes, made from high-quality ice cream and booze, are a super simple way to cool down and relax on hot summer afternoons.\u00a0 They also make a wonderful dessert.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Feel free to experiment with other flavors of ice cream and booze.\u00a0 Check out Mudslides from KOA.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Brandy Shakes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 qt. vanilla ice cream, slightly softened<\/li>\n<li>1 cup brandy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Put ice cream and brandy in a blender and blend until smooth.<br \/>\nPour into glasses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cappuccino Rum Shakes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 qt coffee ice cream, softened<\/li>\n<li>6 oz dark rum<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp ground cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>1 c whipped cream<\/li>\n<li>unsweetened cocoa powder for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Put ice cream, rum, and cinnamon in a blender and blend until smooth.<br \/>\nTop with whipped cream and cocoa powder<\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves:\u00a0 <\/strong>4 -6<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grand Marnier Smoothie<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 cup softened vanilla ice cream<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 cups fresh orange juice<\/li>\n<li>1 ounce (2 tablespoons) Grand Marnier, or to taste<\/li>\n<li>Garnish: 1\/2 teaspoon freshly grated orange zest plus orange slices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In a blender, blend ice cream, orange juice, Grand Marnier and zest until smooth but still thick. Pour<br \/>\nmixture into 2 chilled stemmed glasses and garnish with orange slices.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rusty Nail Shake<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 pint (2 cups) softened vanilla ice cream<\/li>\n<li>1 ounce (2 tablespoons) Scotch, or to taste<\/li>\n<li>1 ounce (2 tablespoons) Drambuie, or to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Garnish: chopped toasted pecans<\/p>\n<p>In a blender, blend ice cream, Scotch and Drambuie until smooth but still thick and pour into 2<br \/>\nchilled stemmed glasses. Garnish drinks with pecans.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Adult Mocaccino Milkshake<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 qt vanilla ice cream<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 c amber rum<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 c creme de cacao<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 c espresso liqueur<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In a blender etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caribbean Spiced Coffee Adult Milkshake<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 qt vanilla ice cream<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 c Captain Morgan Spiced Rum<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 c espresso liqueur<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In a blender and so forth.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>These shakes, made from high-quality ice cream and booze, are a super simple way to cool down and relax on hot summer afternoons.\u00a0 They also make a wonderful dessert.
