{"id":7841,"date":"2019-09-22T04:44:39","date_gmt":"2019-09-22T10:44:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=7841"},"modified":"2025-02-12T05:15:26","modified_gmt":"2025-02-12T12:15:26","slug":"slow-cooker-french-dip-sandwiches-koa2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/slow-cooker-french-dip-sandwiches-koa2019.html","title":{"rendered":"Slow-Cooker French Dip Sandwiches"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>These Easy Crock Pot French Dip Sandwiches are as simple as adding the ingredients to your slow cooker and letting it infuse your house with the intoxicating aroma of beef simmering in a richly seasoned au jus until it reaches mouthwatering perfection.<\/em><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/i><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3 pounds boneless beef chuck roast<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Freshly ground black pepper<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 to 3 tsp vegetable oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 large onion, thinly sliced<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1\/2 tsp kosher salt, plus more to season the roast<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3 c low-sodium beef broth (or , sometimes beer and a package of onion soup mix)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 bay leaf<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remove the roast from its packaging and pat dry with paper towels. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Generously season on all sides with salt and pepper. (or garlic salt, Worcestershire Sauce)<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Heat oil in large pan.<\/li>\n<li>Put a roast in a hot pan, and get a nice brown crust on it. If you want to skip this step, and dump everything and go, you can, but browning it really adds extra flavor.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Transfer the roast to a 6 quart or larger slow cooker.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add the onions to the slow cooker.
