{"id":815,"date":"2014-10-14T05:17:26","date_gmt":"2014-10-14T11:17:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=815"},"modified":"2015-03-18T10:26:28","modified_gmt":"2015-03-18T16:26:28","slug":"ferocious-fried-chicken","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/ferocious-fried-chicken.html","title":{"rendered":"Ferocious Fried Chicken"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"CENTER\"><em>Buttermilk is the secret to southern fried chicken.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"CENTER\"><b>Ingredients:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 chicken, cut up into pieces with skin on (or a combination of breast, thighs, and legs with bones in and skin on)<\/li>\n<li>3 c buttermilk<\/li>\n<li>2 \u00bc c cornmeal<\/li>\n<li>2 \u00bc c flour<\/li>\n<li>salt<\/li>\n<li>black pepper, freshly cracked<\/li>\n<li>peanut oil (or vegetable oil)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><b>Directions:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 350\u00b0<\/li>\n<li>Season chicken with salt and pepper.<\/li>\n<li>Dip chicken pieces into buttermilk, coating thoroughly.<\/li>\n<li>Combine cornmeal and flour in a shallow dish.<\/li>\n<li>Roll the chicken in the mixture, coating thoroughly.<\/li>\n<li>Pour cooking oil into large frying pan, to \u00bd inch depth.<\/li>\n<li>Heat over medium high heat until very hot.<\/li>\n<li>Add chicken pieces to hot oil and cook until golden brown.
