{"id":8825,"date":"2021-10-14T10:43:27","date_gmt":"2021-10-14T16:43:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=8825"},"modified":"2021-10-14T10:43:27","modified_gmt":"2021-10-14T16:43:27","slug":"pesto-and-sun-dried-tomato-torte","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/pesto-and-sun-dried-tomato-torte.html","title":{"rendered":"Pesto and Sun-Dried Tomato Torte"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>This can be made up to three days in advance.\u00a0 Added secret bonus &#8211; Mix all the leftover stuff together for a tasty dip.<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened (To soften the cream cheese, remove the food wrapper and microwave on Medium (50%) for 1 to 1 1\/2 minutes.)<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese<\/li>\n<li>3 cloves garlic, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 container (7 oz) refrigerated basil pesto<\/li>\n<li>1 jar (8 oz) minced oil packed sun-dried tomatoes, well drained<\/li>\n<li>basil sprigs<\/li>\n<li>toasted pine nuts<\/li>\n<li>Baguette slices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In food processor, place cream cheese, Parmesan cheese and garlic.<\/li>\n<li>Cover and process until blended.<\/li>\n<li>Divide into thirds (about 1 cup each).<\/li>\n<li>Line 5-cup mold or 8&#215;4-inch loaf pan with plastic wrap. (It helps to spray with a little oil first.)<\/li>\n<li>Spoon one-third of the cheese mixture in bottom of mold.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Smooth top with spatula.<\/li>\n<li>Spoon pesto evenly over cheese layer.<\/li>\n<li>Spoon one-third of the cheese mixture over pesto layer.<\/li>\n<li>Smooth top with spatula.<\/li>\n<li>Spoon tomatoes evenly over second cheese layer.<\/li>\n<li>Spoon remaining cheese mixture over tomatoes.<\/li>\n<li>Strike filled mold on counter to pack down.<\/li>\n<li>Cover and refrigerate at least 24 hours.<\/li>\n<li>When ready to serve, turn mold upside down onto serving platter.<\/li>\n<li>Remove plastic wrap.<\/li>\n<li>Garnish with basil sprigs and toasted pine nuts.<\/li>\n<li>Serve torte with baguette slices.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serve: <\/strong>40<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:\u00a0 <\/strong>bettycrocker.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This can be made up to three days in advance.\u00a0 Added secret bonus &#8211; Mix all the leftover stuff together for a tasty dip.
