{"id":9009,"date":"2023-06-30T17:15:20","date_gmt":"2023-06-30T23:15:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=9009"},"modified":"2023-06-30T17:15:20","modified_gmt":"2023-06-30T23:15:20","slug":"mississippi-sin-dip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/mississippi-sin-dip.html","title":{"rendered":"Mississippi Sin Dip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>\u00a0No one seems to know where the name came from.\u00a0 Great quick dip &#8211; all you do is measure and mix.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 bread bowl or 1 French bread loaf<\/li>\n<li>8 oz cream cheese softened (not whipped\/spreadable.)<\/li>\n<li>16 oz sour cream &#8211; 2 cups<\/li>\n<li>2 c cheddar cheese shredded &#8211; 1\/2 lb<\/li>\n<li>1 c bacon crumbles (cooked) about 8 slices &#8211; use readymade<\/li>\n<li>1 Tab hot sauce<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp garlic paste\/chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp Worcestershire sauce<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tsp onion powder<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc tsp pepper<\/li>\n<li>scallions\u00a0or chives, for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0.<\/li>\n<li>In a large bowl, cream sour cream and cream cheese with a hand mixer until fluffy &#8211; about 3 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add shredded cheese, bacon, hot sauce, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings.<\/li>\n<li>Mix well.<\/li>\n<li>Cut the top off of the bread and remove the insides. Reserve the top and insides for serving.<\/li>\n<li>Place the hollowed bread loaf on a baking pan.<\/li>\n<li>Scoop the cheese mixture into the middle.\u00a0 (Or use heatproof bowl but the bread bowl is traditional)<\/li>\n<li>Bake for 30-35 minutes until bubbly and hot.<\/li>\n<li>Remove from the oven and rest 5 minutes before serving.<\/li>\n<li>Garnish with chives if desired.<\/li>\n<li>Serve with the hollowed out bread, crackers and veggies.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves: <\/strong>12 people &#8211; 4 cups<br \/>\n<strong>Source:\u00a0 <\/strong>SpendWithPennies.com. Also use crackers, chips, veggies, and more.<\/li>\n<li>Hot sauce can be increased to taste.<\/li>\n<li>Mix the cream cheese with a hand mixer.
