{"id":1015,"date":"2001-10-25T08:20:18","date_gmt":"2001-10-25T13:20:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/?p=1015"},"modified":"2001-10-25T08:20:18","modified_gmt":"2001-10-25T13:20:18","slug":"outlook_express","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2001\/10\/25\/outlook_express.html","title":{"rendered":"Outlook Express + McAfee AntiVirus = The Solution To Having Too Many E-Mails In Your Folders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Outlook Express + McAfee AntiVirus = The Solution To Having Too Many E-Mails In Your Folders<\/b><\/p>\n<p>After kind of scratching my head over what sort of bizarre behavior OE was having for me over the last month or so (occasionally folders would empty out, new message counts would be off, the &#8220;Welcome to Outlook Express!&#8221; message would reappear in my otherwise-empty Inbox), I discovered <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theregister.co.uk\/content\/55\/22427.html\">what&#8217;s going on<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><i>Rrg.<\/i>  And, also, <i>Arrgh<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>And before I discovered it, I lost my Letters folder and one of my PBeM folders last night.  Fortunately, I do e-mail backups with <a href=\"http:\/\/ajsystems.com\/\">Express Assist<\/a> <i>(Good Dave!  Biscuit for you!)<\/i>.  Unfortunately, my last backup was 4 October.  <i>(Bad Dave!  Only a stale biscuit!)<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the Reg article cited above, I&#8217;ve changed the settings (I hope) in McAfee that are causing this Evil.
