Woot! The T-REX project along I-25 is officially over<\/a>. I’m sure it will fill up with traffic soon enough, but it was worth it for the realignment at the I-225 junction and getting away from the MERGING FROM THE LEFT LANE OF DOOOOOM!<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Five years later, metro Denver commuters can take advantage of an expanded I-25 and Interstate 225, and soon they will be able to ride 19 miles of light rail in the same corridor, said RTD General Manger Cal Marsella. <\/p>\n

The southeast rail line, built as part of T-REX, cost another $880 million. It is due to open Nov. 17. <\/p>\n

[…] With all highway lanes and ramps open, remaining T-REX work includes landscaping in the corridor, final testing of the southeast train’s power system and the installation of ticket booths, public art and signs at light-rail stations.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

T-REX officials said they also expect to soon complete a deal with owners of the Park Meadows shopping mall that will provide direct access from the County Line Road rail station platform to the retail center.<\/p>\n

The project was completed slightly ahead of schedule, and two years sooner than initial plans had called for. And I’m proud to say that my company (the civil division) was involved in the planning\/design of the Narrows section of the project.<\/p>\n
