{"id":1037,"date":"2001-10-22T14:01:27","date_gmt":"2001-10-22T19:01:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/?p=1037"},"modified":"2001-10-22T14:01:27","modified_gmt":"2001-10-22T19:01:27","slug":"dia_woes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2001\/10\/22\/dia_woes.html","title":{"rendered":"DIA Woes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rockymountainnews.com\/drmn\/america_under_attack\/article\/0,1299,DRMN_664_855615,00.html\">DIA Woes<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Everybody&#8217;s having fun pointing the finger at why the lines are so long for security check-in at DIA.<\/p>\n<p>This all demonstrates why the security check-in function should be removed from a subcontractor to an airline working with the airport which is a city location but has to abide by FAA rules, etc., etc.  The situation is designed strictly to save money.  Security itself is an afterthought.  And flexibility isn&#8217;t even factored in.  Not that bureaucracies (including military bureaucracies) are &#8220;flexible,&#8221; but this dozens of fingers in the pot approach is just not cutting it.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, if we want <i>security<\/i>, then rushing through subcontractors before fingerprint checks come back is not the way to do it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DIA Woes Everybody&#8217;s having fun pointing the finger at why the lines are so long for security check-in at DIA.
