School administration says that violates its “no weapons” policy.<\/p>\n

Mix in the ACLU, “photo deadline” dirty tricks by the school<\/a>, and claims that “Well, the kid may say we told him this, but we can’t comment because of confidentiality concerns” BS, and you get a delightful example of When Zero Tolerance Goes Bad<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I tried to talk to Mr. Littlefield about it, to show him that it wasn’t about weapons or school safety but about something I enjoy and that I have learned a lot from,” Mr. Agin said. “And I pointed out that the the school mascot (Patriot) has a gun and a sword” \u2014 to no avail. <\/p>\n

He added that the cropped version “looks horrible.” <\/p>\n

While neither confirming nor denying these accounts, Mr. Littlefield said, “In my position as principal I am constantly asked to make decisions that walk a fine line between individual expression and the best interests of the school.” <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
