Actually, as you’ll see in the next post<\/a>, it’s not a matter of sponsoring me, but of supporting a very worthwhile cause.<\/p>\n

So, what’s the Blogathon?<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Starting at 7 a.m. MDT (adjusted worldwide) on Saturday, 28 July, I will begin blogging for 24 hours<\/strong>, with a commitment to one post at least every 30 minutes.  Hilarity ensues!<\/li>\n
  2. In exchange for said hilarity (oh, and, I suppose, the stuff I actually blog about), you get to pledge a donation<\/strong> to the worthy charity of my choice (see next post<\/a>).  The donation can be by the hour (I promise not to go beyond 24) or a flat amount.<\/li>\n
  3. You don’t send me or the Blogathon any money — you just sign up and, afterwards, get a reminder e-mail from the Blogathon to go to the charity’s web site and pony up.<\/li>\n
  4. Nobody except (if you choose) me gets to see your name or what you pledged.<\/li>\n
  5. Again, no money changes hands<\/em> except (on the honor system) between you and the charity.<\/li>\n
  6. Hilarity ensues, I tell you.  Pure comedy gold.  Or, at least, progressively increasing typos, incoherence, mutterings about coffee, and moblogged pictures of me looking really tired by the dawn’s early light on Sunday morning.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Blogathon has been going on for a number of years, and I’ve participated a number of times<\/a> — 2003, 2005, and 2006, to date — and it’s a lot of fun for a good cause.  As with previous years, I’ll be focusing on comic book reviews<\/strong> (and related topics) because, well, it’s become my schtick.  I actually have been setting aside in the new guest room\/office (to be dubbed Blogathon Central, since I’ll probably be working from up there) all my new TPB purchases this year, so there will be plenty of inspiration.<\/p>\n
