On Saturday, Kitten and I accompanied Jackie and KK to the Denver Botanic Gardens. Things are still a bit winter-sere there — the fountains are not running, much of the planting is not yet in bloom except for various seas of daffodils and tulips. A nice visit — my first in over a year — and I look forward to going back in about a month when my folks are out.<\/p>\n
This afternoon, I did the Backyard Spring Cleanup Rake-a-palooza, chopping off winter deadwood (our roses got hit pretty badly this year with broken stems), cleaning out bits of this and that left dead from last season, and giving a good round-the-yard Round-Up spraying on weeds and patches and dandelions.<\/p>\n
The lawn is pretty dandelion-free, but there are a lot growing in the beds this year. Odd.<\/p>\n
Feel quite virtuous having gotten that done. Looking toward the church plant sale delivery next weekend, and the Botanic Garden plant sale in a few weeks after that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
