{"id":11040,"date":"2007-04-19T12:45:14","date_gmt":"2007-04-19T19:45:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/2007\/04\/19\/docs-nix-crocs.html"},"modified":"2007-04-19T12:45:14","modified_gmt":"2007-04-19T19:45:14","slug":"docs_nix_crocs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2007\/04\/19\/docs_nix_crocs.html","title":{"rendered":"Docs nix Crocs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"img-shadow-right\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Crocs - bleah\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/images\/crocs.jpg\" width=\"200\" \/> <\/div>\n<p>I really think Crocs are the ugliest piece of footware, casual or formal, that I&#8217;ve seen in many a moon, combining the grace of Dutch wooden clogs with the subtle elegance of flip-flops.&nbsp; For folks looking for something just to wear to the beach or the store or in the yard, fine, but I remain apalled by the number of ugly, plastic, fluorescent foot footballs I see peeping out from, for example, acolyte robes at church on Sunday.&nbsp; (At least the ugly, dirty, worn tennis shoes that are the alternative aren&#8217;t quite as eye-catching).<\/p>\n<p>But at least one place has formally banned the footware &#8212; a hospital in Sweden, which claims <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/international\/story\/0,,2061288,00.html?gusrc=rss&amp;feed=1\" target=\"_blank\">the static electricity they create zorches hospital equipment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>A Swedish hospital wants to ban its staff from wearing Crocs plastic clogs, saying they generate static electricity that can knock out medical equipment.&nbsp; Blekinge hospital in southern Sweden suspects the slip-on shoes, made by US firm Crocs Inc, are to blame for at least three incidents in which respirators and other machines malfunctioned.
