Had our Parent-Teacher Conference with Katherine’s teacher, Mrs Miller, this afternoon.<\/p>\n

Okay, so Mrs Miller loves Katherine.  She’s bright, she’s dedicated, she’s a hard worker, she’s smart, she’s nice to everyone, etc., etc.<\/p>\n

Then her speech teacher comes in.  Katherine’s a hard worker, she’s bright, she’s funny, she’s lovable.<\/p>\n

Then the science teacher comes in.  He wanted to meet the parents of that really cute blonde girl who’s so into science and dinosaurs.<\/p>\n

Heh.<\/p>\n

Other things we learned:<\/p>\n

  1. Katherine started off second grade testing at reading as an end-of-second-grade reader.<\/li>\n
  2. She makes really cool cognitive leaps about things.<\/li>\n
  3. She is (as noted) nice and friendly to everyone (and is, by the same token, very sensitive and liable to burst into tears over being treated meanly).<\/li>\n
  4. Her handwriting is amazingly neat.  Okay, proof she’s a changeling, since she didn’t get that from either parent.<\/li>\n
  5. She’s very good, remarkably good, at math.<\/li>\n
  6. All her teachers love her.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
