Were Saturday morning cartoons a part of your weekly routine? What do you recall of them? Do you remember when you stopped watching them?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Oh, yeah.\u00a0 Oh, my heavens, yeah.<\/p>\n

I can recall being a wee tot (1st Grade or younger), sitting in front of the TV the living room on Montalto Drive, watching The Superman\/Aquaman\u00a0Hour of Adventure<\/em>, drawing endless stick figure super-heroes on pieces of typing paper on a metal TV tray.<\/p>\n

Underdog.\u00a0 Tennessee Tuxedo.\u00a0 Bullwinkle and Rocky<\/em>.\u00a0 Jonny Quest.\u00a0 Super President.\u00a0 Space Ghost<\/em>.\u00a0 Shazzan.\u00a0 The Herculoids.\u00a0 The Fantastic Four.\u00a0 Hoppity Hooper.\u00a0\u00a0 Jetsons. Go-Go Gophers.<\/em><\/p>\n

I can recall doing my best ninja creep down the hallway in Diamond Bar to get out to the family room to watch cartoons without waking my Dad (not that he objected to the cartoons, he objected to being awakened on a Saturday morning).\u00a0 My brother and I would watch, through my parents arising, through breakfast, all the way up to when cartoons would change to live action shows, like The Monkees <\/em>(yeah).\u00a0 Shortly thereafter, Dad would want to watch sports.<\/p>\n

Bugs Bunny \/ Road Runner.\u00a0 Fantastic Voyage.\u00a0 Spider-Man.\u00a0 Scooby-Doo.\u00a0 Land of the Lost.\u00a0 Sea Lab 2020. The Banana Splits.\u00a0 Pink Panther.\u00a0 Lancelot Link: Secret Chimp.\u00a0\u00a0 Bugaloos.\u00a0 Lidsville.\u00a0 The Wacky Races.\u00a0 Fat Albert.\u00a0 The Double-Deckers.\u00a0 Star Trek TAS.\u00a0 The Saturday Superstar Movies.\u00a0 Josie and the Pussycats.\u00a0 Thundarr the Barbarian. The Superfriends.<\/em><\/p>\n

I never really gave up on Saturday morning cartoons — they more gave up on me, becoming more sparse, less amusing, and even more crudely crafted.\u00a0 There were a few exceptions, but I tended to watch more reruns of stuff outside of Saturday mornings.\u00a0 That went on into adulthood.<\/p>\n

My interests were revived with my daughter (which meant it was my turn to be dragged out of bed on an early schedule), both in terms of acquiring copies of my old cartoons to share with her, scoping out the new cartoons being made — and, best of all, getting a DVR to be able to watch Saturday cartoons (and everyday ones) whenever we wanted.<\/p>\n
