The Dresden Files<\/em> has been canceled<\/a> (or not picked back up for Season 2, which is essentially the same thing).  Sci Fi seems to have timed the announcement around word that Paul Blackthorne (Harry) has joined the cast of ABC’s Big Shots<\/a>Big Shots<\/a> — <\/em>perhaps so that fans might think it was Blackthorne’s move, not Sci Fi’s dithering that led to the show’s demise.<\/p>\n

(Cue standard fan outrage<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

A shame.  It was a fun show, with a lot of potential.  While it varied from the original books in a variety of ways, it did so with integrity — you could enjoy both media without considering either a second class citizen.<\/p>\n

Oh, well — I guess that frees up more time in Sci Fi’s schedule for reruns of Supergator <\/em>…<\/p>\n
