This sort of thing doesn’t just happen.  I have a lot of folks who’ve helped.<\/p>\n

First off, thanks to the folks who organized the Blogathon<\/strong>.  You give structure to this effort, which helps make it happen.  Because otherwise it wouldn’t.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the folk who monitor<\/strong> — in my Khouria Jen<\/a>.  Knowing you were watching helped. <\/p>\n

Thanks, too, the the folks who commented<\/strong> the past 24 hours:  Les, DOF, Amanda, Doyce, Mom, Margie, De, Ktbuffy, Avo, Lee, Kevin, Steve, <\/strong>and Ginger<\/strong>.  This is not an effort easily done without any feedback.<\/p>\n

Thanks, again and more, for those folks who actually made this a worthwhile effort by pledging<\/strong> to the ERD (you should, in the next few days, get an e-mail reminding you of your pledge and where to go to make the donation):  Steve, Mom & Dad, Mary, “Anonymous,” Solonor, Ktbuffy, Doyce, Randy, DOF, Lee,<\/strong> and Amanda<\/strong> and Marn<\/strong><\/em>.  At $520<\/strike> $540<\/strong>, this was the most I’ve raised in a Blogathon, and I very much appreciate it.<\/p>\n

(For the record, the overall Blogathon attracted 361 blogs and a total of $117,097.86 in pledges to various causes.)<\/p>\n

Thanks to the creators<\/strong> of the comics that give me so much joy, not to mention fodder for commentary.<\/p>\n

Thanks to Mom & Dad<\/strong> for encouraging reading and tolerating my comic book habit (esp. for that Giant-Sized X-Men #1 we picked up off the spinner rack at the Grand Canyon many moons ago …)..<\/p>\n

Thanks to Jim & Ginger<\/strong> for helping us put together the new office to serve as Blogathon Central here.  Again, it made life a lot easier both in terms of removing distractions and convenience to the material.<\/p>\n

Thanks to Katherine<\/strong> for being good for me.<\/p>\n

And most of all, and always, many thanks to Margie<\/strong>.  When I offer up 24 hours of my life to an effort like this, perforce it means a lot of extra hours for her, too, plus all the food shopping and solicitude and all that good stuff.  Margie’s been a brick in this, and her “but of course” willingness to support me made this not just possible, but doable.  Love you, honey.<\/p>\n
