{"id":11809,"date":"2008-01-30T07:40:03","date_gmt":"2008-01-30T14:40:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/2008\/01\/30\/intextication.html"},"modified":"2008-01-30T07:40:03","modified_gmt":"2008-01-30T14:40:03","slug":"intextication","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2008\/01\/30\/intextication.html","title":{"rendered":"Intextication"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Why you shouldn&#8217;t text and drive.&nbsp; Yes, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myfoxtwincities.com\/myfox\/pages\/Home\/Detail?contentId=3095624&amp;version=2&amp;locale=EN-US&amp;layoutCode=TSTY&amp;pageId=1.1.1\" target=\"_blank\">you do get distracted<\/a>, more than you think.<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, I know, sounds like a no-brainer.&nbsp; But, y&#8217;know, you get that little beep on the mobile, you think, &#8220;Hey, I can type out a few letters and hit enter,&#8221; and it&#8217;s easy to do.&nbsp; And, really, the only problems come when something unexpected happens &#8212; like a signal changing, someone swerving into your lane, etc.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Which happened to me yesterday.&nbsp; Some idjit started pulling right into me.&nbsp; She was slightly ahead, so I could see her (and slam on the horn when I realized what was happening).&nbsp; If I <em>had <\/em>been texting, or otherwise distracted &#8212; she would have hit me, and I would have been bumped into the center median &#8230; at best.<\/p>\n<p>Not worth it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why you shouldn&#8217;t text and drive.&nbsp; Yes, you do get distracted, more than you think.
