{"id":11858,"date":"2008-01-18T16:21:46","date_gmt":"2008-01-18T23:21:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/2008\/01\/18\/no-party-for-me.html"},"modified":"2008-01-18T16:21:46","modified_gmt":"2008-01-18T23:21:46","slug":"no_party_for_me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2008\/01\/18\/no_party_for_me.html","title":{"rendered":"No party for me!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"img-shadow-right\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Vote!\" height=\"144\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/images\/voting-butterfly.jpg\" width=\"96\" \/><\/div>\n<p><small>(NOTE:&nbsp; This has nothing to do with our party on Saturday night, for those locals who read the title and panicked.)<\/small><\/p>\n<p>Figures.&nbsp; First time in for<em>evah<\/em> that the presidential primary\/caucus season comes to a state I live in, with the race not already decided, and it turns out I&#8217;m not a registered Democrat (or registered Republican, for that matter).&nbsp; Obviously when I registered in &#8217;96 (at least according to the Secretary of State (of the state)) I decided to be ruggedly Independent.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d actually gone to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arapahoedems.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">county&nbsp;Democrats web page<\/a>, and they pointed me over <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sos.state.co.us\/Voter\/voterHome.do;jsessionid=0000nwitSBk4naMqwHM3fnvRxR3:121vl9gps\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> to find out my registration details, so I could find out where to caucus.<\/p>\n<p>Heck, I&#8217;m not even Independent, I&#8217;m a much less rugged-sounding &#8220;Unffiliated.&#8221;&nbsp; And if I wasn&#8217;t registered by mid-December, I&#8217;m ineligible.<\/p>\n<p>And, I discover, so&#8217;s Margie.&nbsp; We are affiliated in our unaffiliation.&nbsp; We are a consortium of the unaffiliated.&nbsp; We are &#8212; well, you get the idea.<\/p>\n<p>Rats.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On the plus side, though,&nbsp;it saves us having to find a sitter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(NOTE:&nbsp; This has nothing to do with our party on Saturday night, for those locals who read the title and panicked.)
