Things I’m looking forward to in this summer’s movie queue:<\/p>\n

  1. Iron Man <\/em>(5\/2): Okay, that’s not really summer yet, but it counts. Looks like great fun (Peter David says it is<\/a>.)<\/li>\n
  2. Speed Racer<\/em> (5\/9): I don’t care. I want to see it.<\/li>\n
  3. Prince Caspian <\/em>(5\/16): One to go see with Kitten? Maybe so, since I saw the first one with her.<\/li>\n
  4. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull<\/em> (5\/22): Oh, yeah.<\/li>\n
  5. Kung Fu Panda<\/em> (6\/6): I’m not sure I want to see this, but I suspect I will have little choice.<\/li>\n
  6. Hellboy II: The Golden Army <\/em>(7\/11): Woot! Hellboy! Woot!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Maybes:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Incredible Hulk <\/em>(6\/13): Have never seen the whole of the first Ang Lee flick, but what I saw didn’t wow me. This one is, supposedly, maybe, sorta better.<\/li>\n
    2. Get Smart <\/em>(6\/20): I think Steve Carell can pull the Don Adams role off. The question is — will it be any good? Might wait on word of mouth for this one.<\/li>\n
    3. WALL-E<\/em> (6\/27): I suspect I will have no choice on this one, either, and it should be Pixariffic goodness — I just get a weird vibe about it.<\/li>\n
    4. Wanted <\/em>(6\/27): I found the Mark Millar comic tale train-wreck fascinating but ultimately nihilistic and unsatisfying. I have little doubt it will be toned down for the big screen, and it’s an interesting enough idea that I’m curious as to what they do with it.<\/li>\n
    5. Hancock <\/em>(7\/2): Will Smith as a down-and-out superhero. Hmmmm.<\/li>\n
    6. The Dark Knight <\/em>(7\/11): I am ashamed to say I haven’t yet seen the first of the new Batman movies. So I’m not sure I’ll see this one any time soon.<\/li>\n
    7. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon King <\/em>(8\/1): For a franchise from a movie that I consider one of my all-time faves, I’ve been increasingly disappointed with each installment — and this going back to the well again doesn’t strike me as a promising idea.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Now, how the heck I’m going to see these things when we average about, oh, three movies a year, is beyond me …<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
