I’ve mentioned it before, and I still think it’s relevant. Sen. McCain must release his medical records to the public — not in a staged, locked room, “you have three hours to look at thousands of pages but no computers, cell phones, Internet, or copies allowed” kind of a stunt, but full, honest disclosure.<\/p>\n

(I’d urge the same on Obama, by the way, something more than just a summary<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

If there is something in there that is (a) personal and (b) truly not germane to his candidacy and ability to run the country for four years, I’d be open to having some sort of neutral medical party review those pages in confidence to confirm it.<\/p>\n

This is not persecution, or even “ageism.” It’s an honest attempt to evaluate whether the candidate seeking to be elected is likely (and how likely) to survive his term (and, by extension, the likelihood that his VP would have to take over, either because of death, debilitating illness, or debilitating treatment of illness).<\/p>\n
