I didn't comment on the semi-violent semi-end to the Oregon militia occupation protest thing when it happened the other day because, well, doing Internet things at my mom's house is a special challenge, but after the inevitable It was all a huge conspiracy by the Gummint to shoot down this true-blooded patriot!<\/i> blather that has ensued, this particular article (which includes the aerial footage that, yes, I watched, too) sums it up well.<\/p>\n

'It’s pretty amazing — when a 12-year-old with a toy gun is shot within two seconds of cops arriving on scene, it makes sense that the police feared for their lives, because he looked like a thug.
