I did call the background check company to see where the hang-up is, but didn't get any more significant info than off their status page: 5 of the 6 checks submitted have come back; the 6th, with a "public agency," is scheduled back on Friday, fergoshsakes.<\/p>\n

The New Employer is sympathetic (and probably frustrated, too, but it's not effectively coming out of their<\/i> paycheck), and has asked their HR folk to ask the background check folk to "expedite" things, but that doesn't seem to have done much good.<\/p>\n

So I guess I will just "enjoy" the extra week of (unpaid) vacation, and finish up some things still outstanding, and practice my patience …<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
