On the one hand, Trump's showrunner Paul Manafort has a not-very-good ethical reputation, and his undisputed ties to the previous pro-Russian president of Ukraine (himself a corrupt sleazeball of the highest order) certainly lends at least some credence to the current charges coming out of the Ukraine, especially given all the other weirdness in the Trump\/Russia, Trump\/Putin dancing of late..<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the current Ukrainian government is nothing to write home about in terms of its politics. If Manafort was associated with the previous regime, I don't automatically assume that charges made or evidence "uncovered" by the new regime should be taken at face value. Caveat emptor.<\/i> I'd just as soon focus on corruption in and around Trump that's demonstrable, before we focus on what the Ukraine is alleging.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
