{"id":13146,"date":"2008-07-09T22:03:27","date_gmt":"2008-07-10T05:03:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/wp\/2008\/07\/09\/yeah-deeply-disappointed.html"},"modified":"2008-07-09T22:03:27","modified_gmt":"2008-07-10T05:03:27","slug":"yeah_deeply_disappointed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2008\/07\/09\/yeah_deeply_disappointed.html","title":{"rendered":"Yeah &#8212; deeply disappointed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>First off, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eff.org\/press\/archives\/2008\/07\/09\" target=\"_blank\">the Senate voted to approve the FISA bill<\/a>, including all the telco immunity provisions.<\/p>\n<p>And, second, <a href=\"http:\/\/thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com\/2008\/07\/09\/blogtalk-obamas-fisa-vote\/\" target=\"_blank\">Barrack Obama was one of the folks voting in favor of it<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not going to change my vote. And, hell, John McCain didn&#8217;t even bother to show up to vote. But I&#8217;m still disappointed.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, maybe it was the politically savvy thing to do, to not look weak on terrorism or to get the whole FISA bill thing out of the way before the convention, or whatever. Or maybe the Democratic leadership twisted his arm for reasons I&#8217;m not privy to.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not changing my vote.<\/p>\n<p>But I&#8217;m still disappointed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First off, the Senate voted to approve the FISA bill, including all the telco immunity provisions.
