On his Twitter account today [https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump\/status\/778237485402980352<\/a>], Trump said:<\/p>\n

'Do people notice Hillary is copying my airplane rallies – she puts the plane behind her like I have been doing from the beginning.'<\/i><\/p>\n

It's the kind of bizarre statement that makes me wonder what really goes on in that head of his. Does he really think that Clinton is intentionally copying him? Is he claiming some sort of original, proprietary claim on speechifying in front of aircraft? Does he figure that people mistrust Clinton so much that anything he says about her will be believed? Does he just like seeing his statements echoed from coast to coast to the outrage (or jollity) of all — with the idea that any publicity is good publicity?<\/p>\n

Needless to say, Trump didn't originate this particular campaign move. Forbes, below, traces it all the way back to Eisenhower, with a lot of presidential candidates in-between.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
