The person the police were called on was not a model citizen, behaving spotlessly. The reports said he was moving around menacingly, wielding a knife. The mentally ill man had (it was determined after<\/i> the fact) methamphetamine in his body.<\/p>\n

This is not the textbook perfectly innocent victim.<\/p>\n

That said, a clearly voiced intent, not once, but twice,<\/i> by the officers arriving on the scene to hit him with their police vehicle<\/i> (followed by a foot pursuit and the inevitable fatal shooting, with 14 of the 18 rounds fired hitting him) should give anyone pause. <\/p>\n

"Obey or the cops will run you over" isn't exactly what most people think "law and order" is about.<\/p>\n

The police officers in question are on desk duty pending an investigation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
