Trailers that showed up in front of our showing of Doctor Strange<\/i> tonight (and how they struck me):<\/p>\n

Rogue One<\/i><\/b> — Yeah, still excited about this. In some ways more excited than for Star Wars VIII.<\/i> A bit grimmer, a bit grittier, a bit less "destiny!" epic.<\/p>\n

XXX – The Return of Xander Cage<\/i><\/b> — Those who like this sort of thing may still struggle to find it the sort of thing they like. Unless lots of slow-mo stunts (half of them looking like CG) are what you like.<\/p>\n

The Great Wall<\/i><\/b> — Really didn't feel anything for this one, aside from a general disdain, not for inserting fantasy into history, but doing it badly.<\/i><\/p>\n

Wonder Woman<\/i><\/b> — Commented on this trailer the other day, and it's still pretty darned cool. And the music was pretty good, too.<\/p>\n

Life<\/i><\/b> — The idea of a space station picking up something that has extra-terrestrial life on board is a very cool one. The idea that we're going to take any<\/i> chance of it either contaminating the crew, or the crew contaminating it, is grossly absurd, and is horror movie logic of the sort that makes this a big "No" in my book.<\/p>\n

Power Rangers<\/i><\/b> — It actually made me want to watch a Power Rangers movie. Well, maybe on a trans-Atlantic flight some time.<\/p>\n

Pirates of the Caribbean, Part Something or Another<\/i><\/b> — Ho. Also, Hum. While I'm not a believer in spoiling your biggest scenes in a trailer, it would be nice to see something about this movie that hasn't already been done a half-dozen times.<\/p>\n

Guardians of the Galaxy 2<\/i><\/b> — Still enthused, though the trailer itself doesn't wow me.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
