Everyone seemed to marvel at how — well, presidential<\/i> Donald Trump was the past few days. His acceptance speech was level, and included gracious notes toward Hillary Clinton. His meeting with Barack Obama seemed civil, even pleasant.<\/p>\n

My immediate thought: Trump can be nice and polite when nobody is challenging him.<\/i> One of the most noteworthy aspects of his campaign behavior was how he reacted to attacks: with denials and counter-attacks.<\/p>\n

Aaaand now somebody's challenging him — protesters in a number of American cities. So, naturally, he's back on Twitter.<\/p>\n

'Just had a very open and successful presidential election. Now professional protesters, incited by the media, are protesting. Very unfair!'<\/i><\/p>\n

Nice delegitimizing of what appear to have been pretty spontaneous protests. But also a strange cry about it being "Very unfair," given that complaining about "fairness" is one of those "politically correct" whines that the Right tends to attribute to the Left.<\/p>\n

This is going to be an interesting four years on Twitter.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
