When my daughter was seven, she was on a huge dinosaur kick, and doing a dinosaur diorama for school. And so one day we sat down with her and we watched <i>Jurassic Park<\/i>. Which turned out to be one of the few times I seriously misjudged a movie's age appropriateness with my daughter.<\/p>\n

Last night, at 16, she finally asked to watch it again, as the wrap-up to #FatherDaughterMovieWeek<\/a> . And, yeah, I can see now where there's just some dark and creepy stuff going on there that might cause a bit of fright for a seven-year-old.<\/p>\n

But it's still an excellent SF\/adventure movie that holds up remarkably well after nearly a quarter of a century, from the actors to the music to (most importantly) the top-notch CGI and practical FX.<\/p>\n
