Not so far as I can tell.<\/p>\n

The current casualty is the A-10 Warthog. The plane was due to be phased out by a close air support version of the theoretically jack-of-all-trades F-35. Then, as the F-35 program extended out due to widespread technical problems, the Air Force okayed continued deployment of the A-10 for longer.<\/p>\n

Except it didn't check to see what support the A-10 would need, and didn't order nearly enough replacement wings as that plane's parts reach end-of-life.<\/p>\n

The result, apparently, will be a grounding of up to a third of the A-10s prior to the F-35's CAS version coming online. And that's not something likely to happen any sooner than schedule; in fact, I'd expect that the CAS version of the F-35 will be later than planned, and have a raft of technical problems that need to be worked out in the field.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
