So I’ve been doing loads of photos into Flickr — the last two batches, from the Netherlands trip<\/a> and the first third of the year<\/a>, are now online — and having fun with it.<\/p>\n

And I’ve discovered a new, unexpected bonus: people like my pictures. Well, at least a few of them. So I’ve had a request from a group that collect Metropolitan Museum of Art photos …<\/p>\n

Hi, I’m an admin for a group called The Metropolitan Museum of Art<\/a>. I noticed that you have some fantastic photos of the Met and would love for you to share them in our group.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I mean, how cool is that?<\/p>\n

Ditto requests for groups on Julio-Claudian Art, Roman Portraiture, and Coins<\/a>, McDonald’s Storefronts<\/a>, Abstract Scaffolding<\/a>, and Historic Masonic Buildings Worldwide<\/a>. Crazy.<\/p>\n

The neat thing is, the request shows for the photo, I get notification, can click on it easily, and then the sharing shows up on the photo’s page so I can see what else the group is doing. Spiffy stuff.<\/p>\n

Photos online — they’re not just to bore your family and friends any more!<\/em> <\/p>\n
