{"id":134917,"date":"2017-10-04T10:53:20","date_gmt":"2017-10-04T16:53:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/?p=134917"},"modified":"2017-10-05T07:57:22","modified_gmt":"2017-10-05T13:57:22","slug":"happy-hispanic-latino-latinx-history-heritage-kinda-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2017\/10\/04\/happy-hispanic-latino-latinx-history-heritage-kinda-month.html","title":{"rendered":"Happy Hispanic-Latino-Latinx-History Heritage Kinda-Month!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An amusing video looking at the mid-month to mid-month celebration of Hispanic History (or maybe Heritage), or maybe it&#8217;s Latino History, unless one is being gender neutral with Latinx, or has a US regional preference for Hispanic vs Latino, or is being pedantically proper about the difference between &#8220;Hispanic&#8221; (of Spanish heritage) and &#8220;Latino&#8221; (of Latin American heritage).<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, funny and educational.<\/p>\n<p>Theoretically, I have Hispanic background, as my paternal grandfather&#8217;s mother was of &#8220;noble Spanish blood&#8221; (as an obit put it) whose family migrated to the US from Mexico (but <i>wasn&#8217;t Mexican,<\/i> we are firmly assured) as one of the early settlers (in some accounts) of Phoenix, Arizona.
