Two summers ago, +<\/span>Kay Hill<\/a><\/span> did a week-long archaeology program at the Crow Canyon center (mentioned here) outside Cortez, at the end of which we spent a long weekend in Mesa Verde National Park. So a lot of the places and stories and theories in the article are of passing familiarity.<\/p>\n

It’s fascinating seeing the different ways that we use to figure out what might have happened in the past, and the mysteries and ambiguities that remain.<\/p>\n
