No, it’s not a new Japanese kaiju<\/i> movie, but an increasingly common annual art festival of animals woven from rice straw after the harvest.<\/p>\n

The straw used to go to things like tatami mats, but with plastic and wood being used instead, all that straw needs to be used for something. So, of course, the Japanese hit on giant critters.<\/p>\n
