{"id":135161,"date":"2017-10-25T08:50:24","date_gmt":"2017-10-25T14:50:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/?p=135161"},"modified":"2017-10-25T18:05:05","modified_gmt":"2017-10-26T00:05:05","slug":"the-car-that-sings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/2017\/10\/25\/the-car-that-sings.html","title":{"rendered":"The Car That Sings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well, not quite singing, but I think it is awesome that Nissan, in response to federal safety regulations to have its electric vehicles and hybrids actually make <i>noise<\/i> when moving (to signal pedestrians that a car is coming), isn&#8217;t producing a virtual motor sound, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2017\/10\/25\/nissan-ev-hybrid-cantor-future-warning-sound\/\">an actual dynamic set of musical tonalities<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I have no idea what a busy city street like this would sound, but if this is the wave of the future, it&#8217;s a remarkably fun one.<\/p>\n<p>(Unless, of course, this becomes a commercialized means of audio advertising, and we start having cars giving commercials as they drive down the street, or blaring out paid-for music of the driver&#8217;s choice.
