You’d almost think Donald Trump hasn’t read an article about Japanese car manufacture and US imports since, oh, 1976 or so. (Emphasis mine.)<\/p>\n

President Trump called on Japan to build more cars in the U.S. during his stop in the country as part of his first official tour of Asia as president. “Try building your cars in the United States instead of shipping them over,\u201d Trump said at an event with Japanese business executives, according to a pool report. \u201cThat’s not rude?\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Three out of every four Japanese brand cars sold in North America were manufactured on the continent,<\/b> according to Columbus Business First.\u00a0And Mazda and Toyota announced in August that they were investing $1.6 billion to start a new manufacturing plant in the U.S. that will create about 4,000 new jobs.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So aside from basically commanding Japanese business executives what to do, he also has his facts completely wrong. Aside from that, I’m sure it was a very successful event.<\/p>\n
