Showrunners Michael Green and Bryan Fuller took Neil Gaiman&#8217;s excellent novel about belief, faith, religion, and what Americans truly worship, and made it into an even more excellent and trippy TV series.<\/p>\n<p>Shockingly, the two gents are leaving the show for the second season (though they have already written most of the scripts), due to creative conflicts and budget limitations by the production house, Fremantle Media.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s not necessarily a deadly blow, but it&#8217;s a huge punch in the face, given the two men have been essentially responsible for the tone and content (beyond Gaiman&#8217;s foundational work). That&#8217;s not something Fremantle can easily replace well.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not completely blaming Fremantle here &#8212; $10M per ep sounds &#8230; remarkably high, and that&#8217;s what they apparently wanted to stick with.
